Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) is Ohio’s first and largest community college. Tri-C serves more than 55,000 students annually and offers more than 1,000 credit and 600 noncredit courses each year, including online options. Tri-C has campuses in Parma, Highland Hills, Westlake and downtown Cleveland, as well as a location in Brunswick. Its Corporate College® locations in Warrensville Heights and Westlake feature state-of-the-art facilities and equipment. Tri-C’s Hospitality Management Center opened on Public Square in downtown Cleveland in 2010.

 

Cuyahoga Community College is seeking qualified candidates for Tenure Track Faculty positions for the 2020-2021 academic year. Discipline areas include Chemistry, Counseling, Dance, Dental Hygiene, Early Childhood Education, English, English as a Second Language, Emergency Medical Technology, Information Technology (Cybersecurity), Medical Laboratory Technology, Psychology and Sociology. 

 

Tenure Track Faculty’s primary duties are to prepare and deliver lectures to students on various topics in relation to a specific discipline. They evaluates and grade students’ class work, laboratory work, assignments and papers. Prepares course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments and handouts. 

 

Additional duties include: 

 

  • Keeps abreast of developments in the field by reading current literature, speaking with colleagues and participating in professional conferences. 

  • Maintains student attendance records, grades and other required records. 

  • Initiates, facilitates and moderates classroom discussions. 

  • As needed, advises students on academic and vocational curricula and on career issues. 

  • Plans, evaluates and revises curricula, course content and course materials and methods of instruction. 

  • Collaborates with colleagues to address teaching and research issues. 

  • Maintains regularly scheduled office hours to advise and assist students. 

Requirements

 

Required Qualifications

 

  • Master’s Degree in related discipline

  • Teaching experience

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Suite (or equivalent)

  • Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for students

  • Sensitivity to respond appropriately to the needs of a diverse population

     

    Preferred Qualifications:

           

 

  • PhD in related discipline

  • Online teaching experience

  • Community college teaching experience

     

    Compensation:

    Target Hiring Rate/Salary: $52,151 with B.A. plus 30 semester hours (45 quarter credits) or M.A. degree; Education less than or more than stated will affect minimum salary.
