Position Summary







Provides administrative and secretarial support as assigned, providing cross\-coverage to other administrative staff as necessary\.







Job Responsibilities







+ Organizes the administrative areas, ensuring appropriate equipment, supplies and materials are in place\.



+ Screens and logs incoming calls, mail and email, re\-directing as necessary\. Maintains filing system\. Maintains calendars for the faculty\. Schedules appointments and meetings\.



+ Provides word\-processing, spreadsheet, document scanning, and presentation software services including preparation of course schedules, lecture presentations and examinations\.



+ Transcribes and, using knowledge of medical terminology, accurately edits course\-related materials from hand\- or type\-written drafts\.



+ Records and transcribes minutes of meetings\. Arranges videoconferences\.



+ Coordinates requisitions and shopping carts in accordance with WCMC\-Q financial policies\.



+ Plans and organizes travel arrangements\. Handles travel arrangements for visiting faculty, including development of itineraries



+ Assists in preparation and assembly of materials for seminars, workshops and presentations given by research faculty and their academic lab members\.



+ May provide support or guidance to other administrative staff in performance of tasks related to correspondence, communication, filing, word processing, duplicating and distribution of materials\.







Education







+ Bachelor's Degree in related field







Experience







Advanced level proficiency in MS Suite of products including Word, Excel and Power\-point\.







Three or more years previous work related experience in an administrative support role\.







Knowledge, Skills and Abilities







+ English language fluency \(written and oral\)\.



+ Strong customer service skills\.



+ Good computer skills



+ Demonstrated intermediate administrative and interpersonal skills



+ Ability to organize, prioritize and be attentive to detailed work\.



+ Demonstrated ability to work independently in a cross\-cultural environment and safeguard confidential information



+ Ability to work as team member\.

Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar was established in 2001 as a partnership between Cornell University and Qatar







Foundation\. The first medical school in Qatar and a pioneer of coeducation at university level, WCM\-Q offers an integrated program of pre\-medical and medical studies leading to the Cornell University M\.D\. degree\. Teaching is by Cornell and Weill Cornell faculty, including physicians at Hamad Medical Corporation \(HMC\) who hold Weill Cornell appointments\.







Enrollment has grown rapidly from 25 first year pre\-medical students in fall 2002 to over 200 students from more than 30 countries as we entered our sixth year of operation in September 2007\.
