Opportunity at a Glance

As the Technical Support Specialist II, you are a Tier 2 support technician possessing advanced technical skills and knowledge.  You support classroom and back office operations.  Additionally, you supports all equipment and services at the campus and associated campuses/remote locations.


  •  Provide Tier 1 & 2 support to the campus and associated campuses/remote locations.
  • Coordinate daily inspections of classroom equipment and process repair tickets accordingly.
  • Build images and software packages to deploy.
  • Assist Student Workers and other support technicians with Student Help Desk support issues.
  • Assist in the supervision of Student Workers and/or temporary workers.
  • Ensure that lab equipment is meeting the requirements of the Academic delivery.
  • Assist in maintaining lab security of equipment and software at all sites.
  • Assist with network, sever, and telecommunication support. 
  • Follow standard operating guides and ensure compliance.
  • Participate in training and evaluative sessions and recommend methods to improve lab environments.
  • Perform troubleshooting and support functions for staff, students, and faculty.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.


  •  Associate’s degree in a technical field pred.
  • 2 years of experience with desktop support or in a help desk.
  • 2 years of experience with Microsoft Active Directory in a large network environment.
  • MCP and A+ certification desired.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems, installation, and troubleshooting.
  • Advanced PC troubleshooting skills.
  • Good working knowledge with Hardware/Software installation in a network environment.
  • Entry level experience with networking, data, and voice systems.
  • Knowledge of printer troubleshooting and repair.
  • Experience with classroom equipment a plus.
  • This position may require occasional evening and weekend work.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
