Position Summary

Provides education and training, and initiates activities required to implement and sustain a shared Student Information System \(SIS\) for MD, PhD, PA, MD\-PhD, non\-degree and MS programs in New York and Qatar\.\.

Job Responsibilities

+ Assists with the planning, installation, and management of a shared student information system across users at the institution and its affiliates\. Ensures timely completion of tasks and deliverables within the project plan\.

+ Coordinates the scheduling of customer training, sets up the training environment \(including hardware and software configurations\), conducts training and evaluates outcomes and any follow up activities\.

+ Consults with administrative staff to assess, plan, and design the user configurations, workflow, product setup, content customization work \(standards & conventions\) and computing environment needs\.

+ Assists with the development of training programs\. Backs up the training team with regard to the SIS as required\. Works closely with the managers, and computer vendors on hardware, networking, and software related issues\.

+ Participates and supports educational program offices, students and faculty before, during and after go\-live\. Maintains a regular follow\-up schedule to assess current and future customer support needs\. Leads post live follow up assessment process\.

+ Provides written status reports on assigned business units before and after go live\. Facilitates implementation tasks\. Supports the interface pre\-loading activities and application upgrade testing\.

+ Provides assistance in the definition, plan, and evaluation of SIS strategies\. Keeps informed of system developments with the institution and affiliates as well as within the industry and related vendor realm\.

+ Provides updates on project statuses for educational tasks, deliverables, and resources\. Delivers training, product demonstrations, educational walk\-through, and other support activities\.

+ Keeps logs of major project events and individual practice data\. Reports on training outcomes, e\.g\. number of users who successfully completed, suggestions for additions or changes\.

+ Communicates with vendors regarding enhancements, fixes and changes\.

+ Assists in the management of technical support issues and problem escalation, resolution, and risk minimization\. Anticipates and resolves routine issues that arise and prevents unnecessary crisis situation\.

+ Performs other job related duties as required\.


+ Bachelor's Degree in related field


Approximately 2 years experience participating in software installation projects of medium/large size and complexity\.

Approximately 3 to 5 years experience in education technology preferably in higher education\.

Expert in SQL

Comprehensive knowledge of SQL and database structures and ability to prepare complex ad\-hoc SQL queries\.

Experience working with database reporting tools, particulary InfoMaker is desired\.

Experience working in ERP or SIS systems is desired, particularly, Jenzabar EX SIS\.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

+ Ability to present SIS product by conducting product demonstrations, and other support activities\.

+ Ability to discuss general SIS attributes, capabilities and features

+ Ability to discuss general project attributes and specific capabilities and features in a group presentation setting and to work with others in a matrix management environment\.

+ Ability to multi\-task while maintaining rigorous attention to detail\.

+ Ability to develop proficiency with unfamiliar toolsets\.

Licenses and Certifications

Working Conditions/Physical Demands

On a daily basis, position requires working in an office environment where there are relatively few physical discomforts due to dust, dirt, noise, and the like\.

Occasional meetings or clinical staff interactions in typical patient care areas may be required though direct patient exposure is not routine\.

Travel between office locations will be required\.

Occasional moving of computer equipment or similar objects up to approximately 25lbs will be required to expedite projects\.

Availability during off\-hours and weekends for go\-lives, testing, and emergencies is a regular part of the job\.
