Opportunity at a Glance

The Student Finance Systems Analyst will be responsible for performing specific tasks related to development and/or maintenance of the Student Finance system (ProSAM).  They will have a broad understanding of the Student Finance life cycle and how it relates to system design and functionality, as well as how each system interacts with other institutional systems and third party systems. 

Responsibilities

In this role you will:

 

 Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Education or Business required, Master’s pred - Minimum 3 years in student finance role, pably with strong use of computer applications and a good understanding of the end to end student finance life cycle.

  • Work together with end-users to make systems adaptable for efficient client interactions and processing functionality.
  • Perform annual modifications of configurable values into Sigma ProSAM and other systems as needed.

  • Supports Policy by ensuring system compliance with Federal, State and Institutional regulations.

  • Tests coded solutions properly against customer acceptance criteria to ensure a quality application.
  • Develops and documents User Acceptance Testing processes and adheres to 4 Process Change Controls required by Internal Audit.
  • Reviews, documents, and recommends technology changes to support or improve existing processes.
  • Translate identified business requirements for complex business changes into a process design for use by the organization Information Technology teams and/or SIGMA.
  • Work with business partners and Information Technology personnel to identify business requirements and system development specifications for business changes and enhancement requests.
  • Research reported issues with ProSAM and processes, and translate into enhancement as needed.
  • Need to understand the design impacts on reporting, system monitoring and analytics- Reports status of all projects to Manager, Student Finance Systems.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.

  • Minimum of 3 years in a specific functional business related field. - Experience working with Sigma and ProSAM. - Technical skills in understanding SQL queries
  • Technical skills in understanding Unix/Linux commands - Proficient with understanding and analyzing business needs, designing solutions based on needs, and articulating business impacts.
  • Experience with systems development lifecycle and system management processes, including business requirements, design, and configuration, and user acceptance testing.
  • Detailed and process oriented with demonstrated capabilities in business process design, modeling and requirements analysis; ability to translate into detailed system requirements specifications.
  • Possesses high level of understanding of business areas and/or functions necessary to successfully undertake technical analysis, design, construction and implementation of system improvements. - Working knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, and COGNOS required.
  • Familiarity with Business Process Management (BPM) methodology (is a plus) and desire experience working with tools/technologies required to facilitate process modeling and documentation.
  • Experience working in multiple Information Technology environments pred. - Advanced written and oral communication skills. 
  • Ability to train other colleagues on new regulations and processes. - Excellent collaboration, facilitation and interpersonal skills. - Exceptional organization, problem solving, and analytical skills. 
  • This job requires detailed analysis, interpretive thinking and the ability to develop innovative solutions to meet current business needs and anticipate future changes. 
  • Individual needs to be able to prioritize competing demands, manage multiple projects and concurrent tasks, and adapt to changing priorities. 
  • Must be results driven and committed to meeting set deadlines for established deliverables. 
  • Must be capable of working with business and technical team members at all levels of the organization.
