Position Summary

Candidates must have a solid foundation and interest in voice, and experience with rehabilitation of vocal performers is strongly encouraged\. Special consideration will also be given to candidates with experience/interest in clinical research\. Job responsibilities will include evaluation and treatment of laryngologic diagnoses, including acoustic and aerodynamic assessment, participation in research, and presentations at institutional and national meetings\.

Job Responsibilities

+ Administers evaluations, tests, or examinations to patients to collect information on type and degree of impairment and function\.

+ Evaluates test results and patients medical or background information to determine impairment and treatment\. Counsels and instructs patients in techniques to improve impairment\.

+ Plans and conducts prevention and treatment programs\.

+ Records and maintains reports of services or treatments\.

+ Refers patients to additional medical or educational services as needed\.

+ Conducts or directs research and reports findings

+ Advises educators or other medical staff on related speech language, voice and swallowing topics\.

+ Participates in conferences or training to update or share knowledge of new disorder treatment methods or technology\.

+ Performs other related duties as assigned\.


+ Master's Degree


Masters degree in Speech\-Language Pathology\.

Approximately 1 year of experience in speech pathology, specific to voice, or combination of experience and related education\.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

+ Ability to communicate well with their patients, despite potential speech issues

+ Compassion and patience to make a patient feel comfortable

+ Critical\-thinking and problem\-solving skills

+ Detailed personality with excellent record keeping skills

Licenses and Certifications

+ Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech\-Language Pathology \(CCC\-SLP\) from the American Speech\-Language\-Hearing Association \(ASHA\)

+ NYS\-license as Speech Language Pathologist
