Position Summary



The NYC Elder Abuse Center \(NYCEAC\) is housed within Weill Cornell Medicines Division of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine **\.** This position will advance strategic initiatives and management and oversight of the day\-to\-day operations of NYCEAC's special projects portfolio, which includes the following initiatives: Elder Abuse Helpline, Social Media, Website, NYCEACs Special Events, NYCEACs Journal Club and other future projects\. This position will lead strategic planning for existing special projects and develop and implement new initiatives\.



Job Responsibilities



+ Monitor projects to ensure processes run efficiently and outcomes and reports are delivered in a timely manner\. Assist with problem\-solving project challenges and instituting process changes, when needed\.

+ Anticipate and ensure activities are supported by appropriate resources \(personnel, fiscal, space, and equipment\)\.

+ Prepare, review and/or edit project materials and reports\. Take a leadership role in shaping the content generated by the different initiatives\.

+ Oversee Institutional Review Board applications\. Actively participate on project advisory boards\. Facilitate meetings when needed\.

+ Oversee HR functions by recruiting and managing staff and consultants\. Interview, hire and onboard staff and consultants\. Plan staff development, conduct annual evaluations, provide feedback, and arrange training\.

+ Develop project budgets\. Plan, report and manage finances for special projects\. Monitor the funding landscape, identify funding opportunities, and develop and write proposals and grants\. Edit grant proposals, work to refine and develop pieces\.

+ Secure and allocate resources for successful operations\. Oversee proper expenditure of funds\. Communicate with funders, including drafting/reviewing reports, thank you letters and other materials as needed\.

+ In conjunction with the Executive Director, lead strategic planning and oversee/ execute implementation of planning decisions/ initiatives for NYCEAC's Special Projects\.

+ Performs strategic networking and meeting attendance with others in the elder justice field and relevant fields\. Identify new directions/initiatives and create strategic plan for execution and implementation\.

+ Represent NYCEAC and/or the Executive Director at meetings, as assigned\. Attend relevant conferences and give presentations, as needed\.

+ Performs other duties as assigned\.



Education



+ Master's Degree



Experience



8 plus years work experience in administration or a related field required\.



Strong knowledge base in aging and elder justice issues highly desired\.



Experience in finance and in facilitating strong partnerships highly desired\.



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



+ Strong oral and written communication skills are required\.

+ Excellent organizational and communication skills\.

+ Demonstrated supervisory skills\.

+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team

+ Excellent technical, analytical and problem\-solving skills\.

+ Must be able to communicate effectively with senior management\.

+ Windows Mac proficiency, as well as experience using web\-based applications
