Description Position Summary
Under supervision, provides photographic, administrative and teaching related services for the department
Job Responsibilities
+ Maintains inventory of supplies, equipment and/or reagents. May order supplies/equipment/reagents as authorized or ensure that needs are escalated appropriately. Receives supply orders and confirms accuracy of delivery. May assist with cost control.

+ Attends workshops, seminars and/or conferences to keep abreast of standards and best practices within the field. Disseminates information to colleagues and/or staff as appropriate.

+ Ensures patient safety is maintained at all times.

+ Responsible for maintaining a sterile environment. Ensures standard infection control precautions are observed.

+ Performs clinical ophthalmic photography, including but not limited to stereo fluorescein angiography, stereo color and infra.red fundus photography, external head and eye photography and ultrasonography. Modifies equipment for each test.

+ Responsible for preparation of materials as requested for audio.visual presentations, publications, lectures and exhibitions.

+ Provides leadership, ophthalmic expertise and decision making for day.to.day clinical operations and patient flow. Troubleshoots and resolves issues as they arise.

+ Recognizes problems/malfunctions of photographic, diagnostic and related equipment. May assist in making minor adjustments in accordance with established procedures. Performs preventive maintenance on equipment in accordance with established procedures.

+ Provides clinical instruction to technicians, residents and medical students on the use and performance of various ophthalmic techniques and procedures.

+ Oversees film processing, slide making, slide duplication and filing. Manages duplicates and ensures image capture stations are appropriately maintained.

+ Trains technicians for the upkeep and accuracy of patient photographic files.

+ May assist with front desk activities as requested.
Education
+ Bachelor's Degree in related field

+ High School Diploma
Experience
Approximately 3 . 5 years ophthalmic photographic experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
+ Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in diagnostic testing, including but not limited to: Ultrasound, OCT, Goldmann and Humphrey visual fields, A and B.scan, Corneal Topography, Corneal Pachymetry, and Heidelberg Retinal Tomography.
Licenses and Certifications
+ Registered Biosafety Professional .RBP. certification is preferred

+ COA .Certified Ophthalmic Assistant., CRA .Certified Retinal Angiographer., or equivalent higher certification
