As the Senior Manager of Infrastructure and Cloud Computing Operations, you will utilize your strategic, technical, and operational experience as well as your broad understanding of the following infrastructure domains:
IT Infrastructure & Cloud Computing (AWS) Operations, Engineering, and Services Management
Infrastructure Risk and Compliance
Infrastructure Budget / Finance and Optimization
IT Asset Management and Tracking
IT Disaster Recovery
Infrastructure Business Relationship Management of internal customers and external vendors
You will be involved in the definition, prioritization and support of key initiatives and operational items. You will exercise your ability to translate business requirements into actionable plans, programs, and strategies.
In this role you will:
Provide leadership and direction for the overall management of multiple infrastructure technology domains and project initiatives. Technology domains may include platforms & OS (Linux / Windows), AWS Cloud Computing services, virtualization technologies (VMWare), storage technologies, and backups
Create and implement a multi-year IT Operating Plan that aligns with strategic business plans
Take ownership and provide coordination of financial budget planning (CapEx and OpEx spend) - including tracking and reporting
Drive continuous improvement of the DeVry Disaster Recovery (DR) program through leadership, collaboration, and initiative. You will plan, build, run and manage enterprise-wide DR, including DR strategies, plan development, plan exercising, and managing annual program agendas and recovery improvement metrics
Drive design and development of the multi-year IT strategy encompassing People, Process, and Technology
Ensure infrastructure compliance for PCI, SOX, CPNI (etc...) and other applicable audit requirements
Work with all Infrastructure leaders and across all domains, creating mechanisms to proactively identify, track, mitigate, and report technology risks. You will assess and remediate the infrastructure risk scorecard as needed
Ensure teams are optimally tracking and reporting on IT assets across DeVry Inc. with an eye toward cost and operational efficiency
Complete Monthly and Quarterly Infrastructure reviews of service delivery effectiveness, including metrics-review, and areas-of-opportunity (including tracking)
Take responsibility for leading team-members in drafting and deploying Process Improvement and Knowledge Management competencies across the Infrastructure
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or a related field), or equivalent industry experience required. Masters degree desired
5+ years of IT Sr. Leadership experience overseeing multiple IT functions
5+ years experience in implementing and managing disaster recovery (DR) and\or business continuity plans (BCP) and initiatives including policy development, architecture, vendor management, recovery strategy development, and recovery plan testing
12+ years of varied overall IT experience including DR/BCP, IT operations, and IT Service Delivery
5+ years IT management experience with proven strategic leadership, business relationship management, IT finance and asset management
Experience managing large projects
Experience in creating and defining complex operational processes and procedures
Thorough knowledge and understanding of:
Configuration and Asset Management
Business-Relationship Management (including best practices, techniques and technologies)
Experience in deploying and utilizing mature IT risk management methods and methodologies to gauge overall business risk and business impact
Ability to work under stressful conditions including effective communication, risk management, and risk-based decision-making
Ability to mentor and develop staff
Ability to work effectively in a consultative role with other Senior Technology Managers and IT Executive Leadership
Proven ability to communicate professionally in a corporate environment, work in cross-functional collaborative teams and implement organizational change management
