    The Senior Director, Total Rewards provides leadership, direction and functional expertise for all aspects of the DeVry University total rewards strategy. The Senior Director, Total Rewards will oversee the design and administration of all compensation, benefits and HRIS programs and policies.  The position will also be responsible for developing long term strategies to ensure the Organization’s total rewards strategy is externally competitive and cost effective.  The Senior Director, Total Rewards will ensure that the Organization is able to attract, reward and retain talent and make certain that administration of all compensation and benefits programs are compliant with internal policies and external regulations. This position will also be responsible for building and maintaining an HRIS environment that supports leadership, managers and colleagues in managing all aspects of employee transactions.


    - Directs the design, implementation and maintenance of a competitive base compensation structure.
    - Creates policies, procedures and financial controls to ensure annual compensation and benefits spending is within budget.
    - Analyzes organizational pay practices to assure equity and fairness.
    - Designs all health and welfare and retirement plans and ensures programs are competitive with the external market.

    - Manages all benefits vendors and contract renewals to ensure cost effective programs are in place.

    - Defines all HRIS reporting and system requirements and ensures all data is maintained and accurate and that all data flows and transactions are executed timely and accurately.

    - Works with HRIS vendors to ensure all applicant tracking systems, time and attendance systems and HRIS systems are operating properly and consistent with organization needs.

    - Counsels with the management team to help ensure merit increase budgets are used effectively in rewarding high performance.
    - Directs the development of training and communications programs to ensure the management team understands the DeVry pay philosophy and salary administration program and employees understand how they are paid.
    - Develops an incentive strategy for the organization. Directs the development of incentive programs for critical employee groups to encourage and reward high performance and ensures incentive programs achieve desired results.
    - Directs the annual salary planning process to ensure salary budgets are established to maintain the competitiveness of the base pay program, are consistent with company financial performance and are well communicated to the organization.
    - Manages the use of outside compensation consultants. Develops scope of work, provides direction and manages cost.
    - Assures compliance with FLSA, FMLA, ERISA and all other compensation and benefits regulations

    - Bachelor’s degree required. 
    - Must have 10 years’ experience in compensation and benefits related areas of HR.
    - Prior experience overseeing an HRIS function is pred (pably in UltiPro environment)

    - Strong vendor management and negotiating skills

    - Highly developed communications, interpersonal and influencing skills.
    - Highly developed quantitative analysis skills.
    - Experience in a progressive HR environment.
