Position Summary







Coordinates and administers both non\-complex and complex contracts from proposal review and submission through award\.







Job Responsibilities







+ Responsible for reviewing/negotiating/drafting confidentiality agreements, master/clinical trial agreements, contract amendments, research consortium agreements, MTAs, data use agreements, clinical services agreements & related documents\.



+ Responsible for ensuring compliance with, and advising the research community about clinical trial related documents\.



+ Reviews terms and conditions of new research agreements and evaluates changes to pre\-existing agreements\. Reviews and negotiates clinical research agreements including but not limited to clinical trial agreements\.



+ Participates in conference calls, conferences, negotiations, and meetings with internal departments and external sponsors as necessary\.



+ Participates in collaboration with colleagues to ensure that the clinical trial activities corroborate with institution\-wide compliance policies\. Maintains up\-to\-date knowledge and expertise in regulations and policies



+ Reviews and/or drafts modifications to clinical research documents including contract amendments\.



+ Enters negotiations and correspondence into database systems as applicable\.



+ Participates in educational orientation programs for faculty and department administrators\.







Education







+ Bachelor's Degree in related field







Experience







Approximately 2 years of related experience negotiating clinical trial agreements and related documents\.







Proficient in working with the implementation of an electronic research administration system and have a broad range of computer skills\.







Prior experience negotiating clinical research and financial terms and budgets with industry funders is highly desired\.







Experience in a research administrative and/or health care setting is highly desired\.







Possession of a juris doctorate is highly desired\.

+ Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to interact with multiple constituencies and exercise "people skills"\.



+ Demonstrated ability to speak and write clearly and articulately without being overly verbose or talkative\. Maintains this standard in all forms of written communication, including email\.



+ Attention to detail and the ability to read complex documents with an eye for proper contract language, as well as style and grammar\.



+ Ability to evaluate different alternatives and select or recommend the one that best meets the business and professional need of the situation without regard for personal biases\.



+ Demonstrated ability to analyze, evaluate, research and interpret regulations\.



+ Demonstrated ability to use good judgment and maintain confidentiality\.



+ Ability to use databases, e\-mail, basic word processing programs and network functions\.
