Position Summary

Responsible for the development of business applications within the SAP environment using a variety of ABAP tools and programming skills\.

Job Responsibilities

+ Develops and maintains a variety of advanced business applications using various objects\. Develops solutions that enhance the end user experience and meet business requirements\.

+ Develops and maintains various NetWeaver Portal objects such as portal configuration, web services, mobile applications, visual and web composer\. Maintains and configures enterprise and federated portals, as well as connections between all SAP systems\.

+ Develops and maintains ABAP business applications such as standard ABAP reports, user exits, BAPIs, BAdIs, BDCs, interactive reports, screen maintenance and ALV reports\. Demonstrates proper coding standards to ensure optimal performance\.

+ Understands business user needs, gathers and documents requirements\. Follows functional specification documents to ensure work products meet the needs of the requester\. Analyzes complex requirements and recommends innovative solutions\.

+ Applies detailed understanding of several business processes and their end\-to\-end relationships to develop business applications in support of the colleges mission\. Communicates requirements and delegates to other team members as required\.

+ Creates and executes test scripts to ensure that reports provide accurate results and meet the requirements of the customer

+ Produces professional technical specifications, status updates, report job aids, and other internal external communications\.

+ Provides end user support, fields support desk questions and provides resolutions, assists end users with application navigation or data questions\.

+ Troubleshoots and resolves technical issues, debugs, tunes and optimizes development object performance\. Optimizes system performance and monitors system usage\.

+ Provides mentoring and guidance to junior members of the development team\. Ensures other members of the development team follow naming and coding standards\.


+ Bachelor's Degree in related field


Approximately 5 years hands on experience with the development of sound SAP business applications in a variety of programming objects; a minimum of 3 full lifecycle projects\.

Strong experience developing business applications in at least 3 of the following areas: SAP ABAP, WebDynpro, BDC, ALV Reports, SAPScript, Smart Forms, Adobe Interactive Forms, PI interfaces, SAP Workflow, or Netweaver Portal configuration; with a minimum of 3 full lifecycle projects\.

Experience with SAP Finance \(Grants, Funds, General Ledger\) or Human Capital Management \(HCM Payroll\) modules highly desired

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

+ Solid verbal and written communication skills\.

+ Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi\-task\.

+ Solid analytical and problem solving ability\.

+ Desire to assume increasing levels of responsibility and to learn new skills\.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands

Position requires working in an office environment where there some physical discomforts such as dust, dirt, noise and the like are present\. Ability to work off\-hours and weekends for go\-lives, testing and emergencies, as well as travel between office locations, primarily within NYC is required\. Occasional meetings or clinical staff interactions in typical patient care areas may be required though direct patient exposure is not expected\. Occasional moving of computer equipment or similar objects up to approximately 50lbs may be required to expedite projects\.
