Job Details

Position Summary

Assists with the analysis and interpretation of next\-generation sequencing \(NGS\) data, originating from patient samples as well as experimental modeling of cancer evolution\.

Job Responsibilities

+ Assists with analyzing sequencing data using established pipelines\.

+ Assists with the development and benchmarking of new tools for sequencing data analysis\.

+ Assists with the development of machine\-learning algorithms for mutation detection in an evolutionary context\.

+ Assists with developing software tools for big data cancer analytics\.

+ Assists and collaborates with internal and external researchers in interpretation of sequencing data\.

+ Performs appropriate quality control measures\.


+ Bachelors of Science Degree in related field


MS degree in bioinformatics, computer science, biology, biochemistry or equivalent exposure is highly desired\.

Demonstrated exposure to NGS data analysis\.

Demonstrated exposure to machine learning/deep learning\.

Programming skills in R, Python, Perl, BASH or similar\.

Programming skills in C\+\+ or Java a plus\.

Exposure to functional genomics and epigenomics preferred\.

Experience working with ENCODE, Roadmap Epigenomics, TCGA, 1000 Genomes or GTEx data a plus\.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

+ Strong knowledge in experimental biology and genetics

+ Demonstrated contributions to original research project development ideas and implementation\.

+ Able to work in a team environment, be self\-motivated, possess strong organizational skills, and work on multiple tasks concurrently\.

+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team

+ Strong creative thinking and problem solving skills\.

+ Excellent communication skills \(both verbal and written\)\.

This position may handle radioactive material and/or biologic materials from human subjects as required\.

This position may require standing or sitting for long periods of time\.

This role may require working within Biologic Safety Level 1, 2 and/or 3 facilities
