Position Summary

Under guidance from the investigators, supervises and coordinates clinical research trials

Job Responsibilities

+ Evaluates and assesses patient eligibility for inclusion in clinical trials\. Performs medical history and physical exam\. Administers appropriate medications as needed\. Conducts patient follow up and arranges for diagnostic testing\.

+ Monitors patient response to medications\. Responds to patient care issues during trial\.

+ Performs liaison activities\-provides sponsors with progress reports\. Prepares study budget and negotiates with sponsor\. Assists physician in preparing IRB documents\. Maintains correspondence with sponsoring company agency and IRB\.

+ Maintains records and performs data analysis for clinical studies\. Assists in development of research designs and completion of applications\. Interprets and communicates research findings and lab studies to members of the research team\.

+ Assists in the preparation of manuscripts and presentations\.

+ Assures strict adherence to study requirements by personnel with patient involvement according to the guidelines set forth in the protocol\.

+ Recruits and educates study volunteers and their families of trail activities and their rights as a study volunteer\.


+ Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing


Approximately 3 years of related experience\. Experience with patient and family education concerning recruitment for clinical trials desired\. Prior research protocol experience desired\.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

+ Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills\.

Licenses and Certifications

+ Current NY State Registered Nurse License & Registration\.

+ BLS certification, issued by the American Heart Association\.

+ Infection Control Certificate
