Description Position Summary
Under direct supervision of the Program Coordinator, the Research Data Specialist creates and maintains Lung Cancer Screening Program databases. Organizes the dissemination and exchange of data; prepares data for analysis and follows up on patients’ testing, analyzes and tracks data for trends. Designs, implements and oversees and also performs data entry, creation of forms, verification procedures, and tracking systems for longitudinal patient follow.up and research projects. The Research Data Specialist will also provide administrative support for the Lung Cancer Screening Program and participate in patient care operations by assisting with scheduling, registration, insurance pre.certifications, and other patient care related activities.
Job Responsibilities
+ Designs, implements and oversees and also performs data entry, creation of forms, verification procedures .for patient and study ID., and tracking systems for longitudinal patient follow.up and research projects.

+ May assist with rescheduling patient appointments.

+ Participate in analysis, development, modification, and troubleshooting of software packages to provide an architecture of computer systems supporting research workflows
+ Bachelor's Degree in related field
Working knowledge of statistical analysis software .i.e. SPSS, SAS. required.
Ability to program databases and query using advanced functions in spreadsheets and databases such as Excel, Access, and FileMaker and to present data in clear and presentable format required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
+ Ability to work independently and within a team.

+ Working knowledge of ImageCast RIS, PACS and EPIC.

+ Experience with database construction, curation, and analyses.

+ Excellent computer skills including good working knowledge of MS office. Ability to learn new computer software and applications.

+ Must possess outstanding customer services skills with a compassionate, courteous, and helpful phone manner; ability to deal professionally with a diverse constituency . patients, faculty, physicians, and co.workers.

+ Ability to multi.task and work under pressure; ability to prioritize competing demands and complete action items efficiently with minimal supervision to meet deadlines.
