Position Summary

Under supervision, establishes and maintains the integrity and health of research related financial accounts This role also ensures that institutional fiscal reporting responsibilities are met and cash receipts are optimized through timely and accurate invoicing and reporting

Job Responsibilities

+ Prepares federal cash transaction reports as per National Institutes of Health \(NIH\) required guidelines and timeframes\.

+ Ensures compliance with regulatory audits/inspections and/or internal reviews\. Develops and recommends corrective action plans to address deficiencies identified\. May serve as liaison to audit team\(s\) during on\-site visits\.

+ Reviews grant account details for non\-payments and irregularities\. Resolves any discrepancies\.

+ Reviews and reconciles accounts, financial transactions, documentation and/or financial reports\. Investigates and corrects discrepancies\. Escalates issues as needed\.

+ Clears receivables against payments to ensure correct monthly balances of accounts\.

+ Prepares and analyzes routine and ad\-hoc financial reports for any discrepancies\. Compiles summaries as needed\. Escalates said reports or analysis for review if necessary\.

+ Identifies system issues that prevent work product\. Escalates critical issues to avoid compliance risks or penalties\.

+ Collects and allocates post\-award payments\.

+ Monitors resource allocations and ensures that funds are used accordance with external sponsors' policies\. Resolves any deficits and/or inappropriate expenses\.

+ Follows up with sponsors regarding unpaid invoices\.


+ Bachelor's Degree in related field


Approximately 2 years of related practical experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

+ Demonstrated understanding of research account management\.

+ Knowledge of finance audit practices is highly desired\.

+ Institutional research experience is highly desired\.

+ Working knowledge of SAP is highly desired\.
