Position Summary



Contributes to the Vulnerable Elder Protection Team \(VEPT\), a first\-of\-its\-kind Emergency Department\-based consult service focused on optimizing care for potential victims of elder abuse\. Assists with program operations, participates in program evaluation and improvement, supports team members from multiple disciplines, and ensures accurate case tracking and reporting to funders\.



Job Responsibilities



+ Assists with design, refinement, and maintenance of VEPT clinical protocols\.

+ Maintains comprehensive VEPT registry database\. Responsible for data acquisition and entry, including VEPT interventions and short and long\-term medical, psychosocial, financial, and legal outcomes\.

+ Participates in program evaluation and improvement using quantitative and qualitative methods\.

+ May conduct/facilitate focus groups and interviews with providers to understand how program is used\. Interprets and communicates results\.

+ Assists with program operations, including scheduling/coordinating team, leadership and Committee meetings\. Develops and maintains the on\-call schedule for VEPT medical providers\.

+ Assists in scheduling outreach for VEPT team members with ED and inpatient providers as well as community\-based agencies\.

+ Serves as liaison between ED and EMS staff\. Provides feedback on case follow\-up to ED and inpatient providers who activate and interact with VEPT\.

+ Prepares and submits regular case\- and intervention\-related reporting to funders\.

+ Collaborates with Grants Administrator to ensure appropriate and accurate expense tracking as well as compliance with OVS funding, fiscal, and other reporting and audit requirements\.

+ Provides additional programmatic support as needed\.



Education



+ Bachelor's Degree



Experience



Masters of Public Health \(MPH\) or Masters of Hospital Administration \(MHA\) is preferred\.



Approximately 2 years of related experience\.



Experience working on grant\-funded projects preferred\.



Knowledge of elder abuse, aging and/or NYC services for adults preferred\.



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



+ Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to interact with multiple constituencies\.

+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self\-motivated, adaptable, and possessing a positive attitude\.
