Position Summary







Under direction, Pathology Administrative Assistant provides administrative and secretarial support as it relates to histology







Job Responsibilities







+ Files and pulls slides as needed\. Files medical records by accession number\. Returns consult slides back to originating provider\.



+ Acts as a back up to case management from receipt of specimen to final report: Matches slides to cases, follows up on additional procedures \(histology studies, immunoperoxidase, etc\) and addendums, etc\.



+ Maintains database and library for research and publication projects\.



+ Facilitates research; Edits, cites and completes research papers\. Types all non\-clinical correspondence and perform research searches electronically\.



+ Responsible for return of dry consults to the referring physicians\.



+ Performs administrative and secretarial functions, including but not limited to, screening phone calls, coordinating travel arrangements for conferences and maintaining the calendar and CV for the Director\.







Education







+ High School Diploma







Experience







Approximately 2 years of prior related experience







Knowledge, Skills and Abilities







+ Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to pay close attention to detail\.



+ Excellent communication skills \(both verbal and written\)\.



+ Ability to handle multiple simultaneous demands and prioritize work\.
