  • Opportunity at a Glance

    We are looking for an experienced, detail-oriented paralegal to join the team. This individual will be engaged with corporate governance, information governance, employment and general paralegal work within the legal department The ideal candidate with be experienced, highly organized and motivated, and be able to work well both as part of a team and independently. 

     

    Responsibilities

    • Support Senior Corporate Counsel and other DeVry University attorneys across the litigation, ethics and compliance, information governance, employment, and corporate governance practice areas;
    • Provide litigation support, including management of legal document holds, gathering discovery materials, and preparation of responses to interrogatories, requests for admissions, requests for production of documents, and third-party subpoenas;
    • Assist in-house and outside counsel in all aspects of management of litigation;
    • Assist with and/or prepare summaries and analysis of factual research;
    • Assist in the development and maintenance of board and board committee materials;
    • Identify and implement process improvements to policies and procedures;
    • Provide general administrative support to the legal team, while interacting cross-functionally with other departments and outside counsel;
    • Liaise with cross-functional teams within DeVry, as well as external parties, to ensure efficient workflow and handling of requests; and
    • Collaborate on other initiatives and other special projects, as needed.

    Completes other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree required
    • 4+ years relevant experience (legal, operations, administrative, or project management) pred.
    • D. or Paralegal certification is not required for this position.
    • Self-motivated, efficient, and eager to constantly learn.
    • Exceptionally organized and detail oriented.
    • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure.
    • Adaptable and resourceful in a dynamic environment, with strong problem-solving skills.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Takes direction well
