Position Summary

Reporting to the Associate Director, the incumbents primary responsibility is to manage the daytoday operations of the Office of Sponsored Research Administration \(OSRA\)\. Additionally, s/he will work with the Research Operations Directors and Chief Administrative Officer of Research on managing other critical inter\-campus relationships\. Must be very knowledgeable in the life cycle of a broad scope of sponsored program \(grants and contracts\) from proposal review to post award transactions\. S/he will ensure proposed terms and conditions are in compliance with applicable federal, state and local regulations and do not conflict with existing commitments or institutional policies\.

Job Responsibilities

+ Provides leadership, guidance & management on day\-to\-day operations\. Responsible for qualitative & quantitative oversite of grants, contracts, subawards, industry agreements, account creation, post award transactions, reporting & SOP management\.

+ Ensures compliance with IRB, IACUC, FDA, internal & external compliance bodies & granting agencies\. Maintains expertise in federal/state/private agency regulations & policies, OMB circulars, Uniform Guidance & new legislation impacting research\.

+ Provides staff with expertise on international complexities of sponsored programs, including WCM\-Qatar, to ensure compliance with U\.S\. export control regulations administered by EAR, ITAR and OFAC\.

+ With oversight, responsible for WRGSponsored Programs \(InfoEd\) module on\-going development, implementation and maintenance, working with RAC\-ITS and vendor, as well as with OSRA staff, and research community faculty and staff\.

+ Works with Directors and Managers to identify key performance metrics for reporting & staff performance management\. Ensures high quality reporting in alignment with institutional needs\. Integrates performance metrics into performance reviews\.

+ Conducts regular staff meetings\. Addresses staff conflict & performance issues\. Assists Directors with resourcing e\.g\. space & staffing needs analysis & optimal seating charts\. Provides guidance to managers on best practices of direct report management\.

+ Ensures website and all other forms of communication, are current, uniform and correctly utilize WCM branding\. Builds\-out website content\.

+ Has signatory authority as needed\.

+ Performs other related duties as directed\.


+ Bachelor's Degree


Masters degree is preferred\.

Additional years of experience in the sponsored research, higher education arena may substitute for the masters degree requirement providing that the applicant has a bachelor's degree\.

Four plus years of related experience in higher education\.

Candidates must be proficient in working with the implementation and maintenance of a complex electronic research administration system, and have a broad range of technical skills\.

Experience in management, contingency planning, improving efficiencies and metrics, contributing to achievement of institutional objectives and growth highly desired\.

Experience in a health care setting a plus\.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
