Position Summary

Under the direction of the Manager Visual and Multimedia Content, the Multimedia Specialist will manage the production of high quality videos, photography and other visual and audio content for the Office of External Affairs that showcase Weill Cornells excellence in research, student education and medical care\. The Multimedia Specialist will need to be a versatile and proactive team player with experience story\-planning, managing, shooting and editing visual projects with little supervision\.

Job Responsibilities

+ Manages and shoots high\-quality videos in a variety of styles, optimized for traditional media, social media, editorial purposes and/or donor\-relations\.

+ Manages and edits original and compiled videos to create compelling stories, utilizing graphics and advanced techniques as needed\. Edits HD broadcast clips for media archive\.

+ Researches stories, interviewing subjects \(students, faculty, patients, leadership, donors, etc\.\) and prepares project proposals, story treatments and executive briefs\.

+ Scouts locations, plans and coordinates on\-site shoot logistics, including lighting and sound\. Escorts external video and photography crews as needed\.

+ Hires and coordinates freelance photo and video crews as needed\. Oversees budgets for shoots and negotiates affordable rates with freelancers\.

+ Maintains, archives, and logs videos and photo library; maintains and optimizes WCMCs social media videos and photo channels, such as YouTube, Vimeo and Flikr\.

+ Collaborates with events teams and services to coordinate and ensure the display of final approved videos in a variety of locations and events\.

+ Manages and responds to requests for completed photos and videos from internal and external parties\.

+ Photographing events and people as needed\.

+ Oversee the Belfer Media Wall visual content, gather images and develop medical/scientific content as needed\. Manage the external vendors to deliver high\-quality multimedia content on schedule, maintain the media walls physical operation\.


+ Bachelor's Degree in related field


3\-5 years experience in all aspects of video production\.

Experience editing in Adobe Premier Pro and using Adobe Creative Suite\.

Experience shooting video, both on standard video cameras and DSLR cameras\.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

+ Strong organization and communication skills\.

+ Go\-getter with strong storytelling skills and a developed visual style\.

+ Strong computer skills and knowledge fo Microsoft Office Suite\.

Must be able to lift and carry 15\-20 pounds\.
