Position Summary



Provides a full scope of massage techniques/services for patients and education for the staff and community, with the goal of enhancing patient well\-being and quality of life\. This role works primarily with outpatients, but may also work with hospitalized patients as needed\.



Job Responsibilities



+ Conducts massage therapy educational sessions for patients, clinicians, community groups and staff on the benefits of massage therapy\.

+ Develops and maintains a portfolio of massage therapy educational materials for clinicians and patients, using print and non\-print media\.

+ Documents detailed visit summaries in the electronic medical record and plan for patient follow\-up

+ Performs one\-on\-one consultations and treatment\. Provides massage services tailored to patient needs\.



Education



+ High School Diploma



Experience



Minimum 1000 hours and 1 year of massage experience\.



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



+ Patience and a high capacity for empathy and perseverance\.

+ Excellent communication skills \(both verbal and written\)\.

+ Ability to exercise standards of professionalism, including appearance, presentation and demeanor\.



Licenses and Certifications



+ Current massage license in state of New York

+ Graduate from a National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork\-Assigned \(NCBTMB\) school registered by the New York State Education Department as licensure qualifying



Working Conditions/Physical Demands



Flexibility in availability for evening and/or weekend sessions\.
