Description Position Summary
A recognized technical expert in security architecture and engineering who is expected to lead a team of talented analysts and engineers to solve problems which align with the overall mission of Weill Cornell Medicine. This position will be responsible for identifying fundamental security problems and incidents with a passion to innovate and drive major security improvements in our infrastructure
Job Responsibilities
+ Manages, inspires, and mentors a team of security analysts and engineers responsible for all technical aspects of security. Assists with recruiting employees; assigns, directs, and evaluates their work.

+ Ensures service requests and security.related tickets are resolved in a timely manner within the ticketing management system.

+ Assist with capital and operational budgets, including developing roadmaps, budget planning, multi.year forecasting, revenue stream development, capacity planning, expertise alignment, and resource optimization within the security engineering function.

+ Oversees and maintains a vast project portfolio for the implementation or maintenance of new or existing security technologies. Ensures that project deadlines are met on time, on budget, and of acceptable quality.

+ Seeks opportunities to improve and advance the overall security posture by conducting technical assessments aiming to replace legacy or inadequate security systems

+ Develops and maintains metrics and reports to provide senior and executive management insight and evidence supporting the effectiveness of new security infrastructure.

+ Review existing or new ITS projects against institutional technical architecture. Lead operational meetings with the goal of defining and reaching strategic and tactical goals that will improve the institution’s security posture.
+ Bachelor's Degree in related field
8 or more years’ experience as a security professional; CISSP or equivalent practical experience.
Comprehensive, expert.level understanding of information security and related technologies, such as firewalls, encryption, access controls, SEIM, IDS/IPS, mobile device management, encryption, vulnerability scanning, application authentication, architecture, and design.
Experience identifying and creating IT security goals, metrics, and objectives; developing IT security strategies and practices.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
+ An “information technology generalist” that has widespread knowledge in all areas of information technology.

+ Ability and skill to influence personnel through a matrix organization as opposed to line.management authority.

+ Ability to participate with upper management in a decision.support mode through the development of appropriate management information.

+ Hands.on team leadership and management experience, ideally coupled with suitable management qualifications.

+ Ability to successfully lead and motivate staff in achieving organizational and support goals.
