Position Summary



Works in a multi\-disciplinary mental health outpatient setting and collaborates with Primary Care Medicine in the treatment of patients with medical and psychiatric comorbidities to improve overall health and wellness\. Provides individual and group psychotherapy, as well as works creatively in the delivery of mental health services\.



Job Responsibilities



+ Provides individual, group and family therapy in an outpatient setting\.

+ Provides comprehensive assessment and diagnosis using the DSM\-V\.

+ Prepares ahead for sessions, tailoring treatment to each patient's unique needs\.

+ Documents in a timely manner

+ Attends and contributes to team meetings and peer supervision\.

+ Engages in continuing education\.

+ Communicates and collaborates regularly with patient care team\.



Education



+ Master's Degree



Experience



Experience working with individuals and families affected by mental illness\.



Experience working with medically ill populations is preferred\.



Working understanding of the healthcare system



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



+ Ability to diagnose mental health conditions\.

+ Appreciates and understands the connection between individual goals, departmental goals, and the organizational mission\.

+ Willing to engage in creating new programs, such as therapy groups or integrated approaches to mental health care\.

+ Comfort with discussions of psychiatric medications and medical diagnoses\.

+ Maintains a flexible and forward\-thinking approach to the way work is done\.

+ Possesses excellent work\-related skills and the ability to apply them, while continually seeking ways to improve\.

+ Maintains a team\-oriented approach, and possesses the ability to cultivate positive and collegial workplace relationships\.

+ Possesses the ability to facilitate the flow of information through effective written and oral communication\.

+ Competent in time\-limited, evidence\-based treatments\.

+ Comfortable documenting in the Electronic Medical Record\.



Licenses and Certifications



+ Licensed Certified Social Worker \(LCSW\) by the State of New York
