Position Summary







Oversees the management, strategy and direction of Weill Cornell Medicine's \(WCM\) application delivery platforms\. This position manages the day\-to\-day operation and management of Citrix Management Services \(CMS\), that support the Virtual Desktop and Application Delivery to all WCM users\. This role also manages budgets and procurement decisions and works closely with ITS senior leadership to ensure that security, compliance, performance, service level agreements, operating level agreements and operational standards are met for the core server, storage and virtual infrastructure\. Additionally, this position also plays an architectural role within ITS, focusing on application delivery\.







Job Responsibilities







+ Manages all operational activities provided by Citrix Management Service to ensure SLAs are met\.



+ Establishes guidelines for the various technologies WCM uses for application and virtual desktop delivery, such as: Citrix XenApp, Citrix XenDesktop and System Center Configuration Manager\.



+ Establishes regular review of trending data, capacity planning and proposes alternative architectures and solutions that provide better end user experience or equivalent services at lower TCO\.



+ Develops, documents, communicates and carries out procedures designed to facilitate recovery from platform failure\. Reviews and updates disaster recovery configurations and procedures to meet business RTO and RCO objectives\.



+ Follows general ITS change control policies\. Works with ITS teams to establish detailed change control procedures for application delivery and desktop delivery\.



+ Manages the group's budget including ITS purchases\. Develops budget management, reviews procedures and leads yearly budget development and purchasing processes\.



+ Ensures that ITS\-integrated customer service is delivered to users\.



+ Works with the team to develop automation, tools and procedures that improves operation efficiency and consistency\. Measures and reports teams effectiveness on regular basis\. Automates standard operating procedures and integrates into WCM Cloud system\.



+ Manages all activities using standardized documented policies and procedures, adhering to departmental principles\. Sets and meets deadlines according to plans developed in collaboration users clients\.



+ Keeps abreast of developments in the field and recommends new technologies and services that are beneficial to WCM particularly around application delivery platforms and related systems\.



+ Responsible for maintaining security for all related services in close collaboration with the ITS Security Group\. Works with ITS Security Engineers to document and remediate security problems them when necessary\.



+ Ensures that infrastructures are in compliance with institutional security policies and procedures and appropriate regulatory requirements\.



+ Performs other related duties as assigned\.







Education







+ Bachelor's Degree in related field







Experience







Equivalent work experience can be considered in lieu of a degree\.







Approximately 5 or more years experience in an IT supervisory capacity directly supporting Microsoft Windows Server, Database, Active Directory/LDAP, VDI\-XenDesktop, XenApp, Group Policy, XenDesktop, Thin Clients, VMware, PowerShell, DNS and DHCP as it relates to their needs\.







In\-depth understanding of: Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, Microsoft System Center and Citrix technologies, such as: XenDesktop, XenApp, Storefront, Director, and VMware\. Demonstrated experience in delivering applications to users remotely to various clients devices and platforms, such as: Windows, MacOS, Tablets, Smartphones and others\.







Strong background in developing trust and confidence in relationships with clients and cross functional teams; experience coordinating and fulfilling requests for internal/external changes\.







Experience identifying, creating and demonstrating goals, metrics, and objectives; developing IT operations strategies and practices\. Demonstrated expertise in information systems, business operations, requirements analysis, and integration/design of client solutions\.







Ability and skill to influence personnel through a matrix organization as well as through a line management authority; Ability to participate with upper management in a decision support mode through the development of appropriate management information\.







Exceptional client communications and negotiation skills\.







Previous experience meeting federal, state or local regulatory requirements within Information highly desired\.







Technology, Health Care experience is a plus\.







Familiarilty with Project Management principals desired\.







Experience managing Microsoft Azure \(O365\), Unix/Linux systems and Infoblox desired\.







Experience managing a multi\-year budget of over $500,000 a plus\.







Experience with managing capacity in large environments and presenting projections and current state to Management a plus\.







Knowledge, Skills and Abilities







+ Must be a self\-starter, have a broad technical background, possess both critical\-thinking and analytical skills and must be able to manage and prioritize many tasks at any given time\.



+ Ability to manage Engineers and build effective and cohesive teams\.



+ Citrix XenApp \(Expert Level\); Citrix XenDesktop \(Expert Level\)\.



+ Active Directory; Group Policy\.



+ PowerShell \(or other scripting\); VMWare ESX\.



+ Windows Sever \(2008/2012\); DNS \\ DHCP\.



+ Demonstrated strong communication skills\.



+ Budget management and review procedure\.



+ Client Devices and Platforms \(Windows, MacOS, Android, iOS, Thin Clients\); Capacity Planning



+ Trending \- identifying, creating and demonstrating goals, metrics, and objectives\.



+ Citrix StoreFront /Web Interface; System Center Configuration Manager\.
