Position Summary



Manages the daily operations of fiscal and administrative activities associated with grants management and laboratory project activities\.



Job Responsibilities



+ Ensures that facilities and equipment are in optimal and proper working condition\. Coordinates preventative maintenance and repairs as needed\. May perform minor repairs if qualified and as needed\. May advise on upgrades for performance enhancements\.

+ Assists faculty with overall formatting of proposals for submission\. Updates biosketches, support pages and resource & facilities forms\.

+ Creates financial projections, forecasts future financial scenarios and suggests alternative spending plans to principal investigators\.

+ Provides the leadership for facilitating and expediting the research grant and contract application process\. Provides guidance to staff on all aspects of the grant process\.

+ Assists in reconciling budget to actual expense activity for all grants and contracts\.

+ Responsible for grant transactions including, preparing, reviewing, approving and maintaining records of expenditures and income; preparing purchase orders and requisitions, travels and business expense reports and allocating charges to accounts\.

+ May coordinate the processing of faculty appointments, renewals and promotions for the academic faculty in the research laboratory\.

+ May prepare housing applications as required for staff and faculty\.

+ May develop, write and maintain content for publications related to the department and its activities \(brochures, websites, social media platforms, etc\.\)\.

+ May be responsible for coordinating telecommunications purchases, replacements, relocations and terminations\.



Education



+ Bachelor's Degree in related field



Experience



Approximately 3 years of experience with grants management \(including pre post award management, financial analysis, budgeting and grants management\)



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



+ Demonstrated familiarity with various funding agency rules and regulations as they pertain to grants and contracts administration is highly desired\.
