Job Details

Position Summary

Responsible for providing comprehensive fund analysis for multiple divisions within ITS and for the ongoing management of the ITS Contract Module including data transfer, upkeep and reporting\.

Job Responsibilities

+ Responsible for the lifecycle of all ITS maintenance contracts\. Obtains purchase orders & ensures invoices are paid\. Looks for opportunities to decrease costs by identifying redundancy\. Works directly with vendors on contract renewals\.

+ Maintains financial reporting systems & other in\-house databases\. Analyzes reports & performs financial analysis to include budget vs\. actuals\. Participates in internal audits\. Ensures expenditures are appropriately charged; reclassifies charges as needed\.

+ Responsible for processing, monitoring and ensuring financial compliance of routine financial transactions\.

+ Maintains budget, contract, and consultant monitoring systems to ensure that funds are spent as budgeted\. Analyzes budget patterns and projects expenditures\. Identifies budget issues, provides alternative solutions, and resolves problems\.

+ Performs purchasing and financial activities to support operations\. Ensures payments are made in a timely manner\. Responsible for tracking requisitions and following up on status of requests\.

+ Performs administrative tasks related to financial operations such as record keeping, tracking and recording data, maintaining databases, organizing budgetary and financial materials in Sharepoint, etc\.

+ Performs other related duties as assigned\.


+ Bachelor's Degree


Demonstrated commensurate work experience may be substituted for college degree\.

Approximately 1\-3 years of experience in an academic health care setting

Proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, and office software applications required\.

Must be a proactive self\-starter with the ability to see the bigger picture and implement measures to ensure departmental activities are in order\.

Knowledge of SAP or other financial databases highly desired\.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

+ Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to pay close attention to detail\.

+ Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communications and interpersonal skills\.

+ Advanced problem solving and analytical skills\.

+ Ability to exercise standards of professionalism, including appearance, presentation and demeanor\.

+ Demonstrated ability to structure and process qualitative or quantitative data and draw insightful conclusions\.

+ Ability to meet multiple deadlines and handle multiple priorities\.

+ Proficient in advanced functionality of Microsoft Excel and Access, i\.e\. pivot tables, Vlookups, etc\.

+ Demonstrated desire for continued learning in the field and enthusiasm to proactively seek out learning activities

Working Conditions/Physical Demands

Position requires working in an office environment where some physical discomforts such as dust, dirt, noise and the like are present\. Ability to work off\-hours and weekends, as well as travel between office locations, primarily within NYC Ithaca, is required\. Occasional meetings or clinical staff interactions in typical patient care areas may be required though direct patient exposure is not expected\.

As a technology services professional you will have exposure and/or access to confidential information, including highly regulated and highly sensitive data, as part of your normal duties\. Such data may include protected health information personally identifiable information, student and financial data, staff data and research data\. Access to data within systems that contain significant portions of confidential records will be necessary to do your job however, viewing of that information in individual detail is generally incidental\. The privacy training course is required to be completed annually by all employees\.
