Position Summary



Provides clinical consultation services through the Enhanced Multi\-Disciplinary Teams \(EMDTs\) of the New York City Elder Abuse Center/ Weill Cornell Medicine Multidisciplinary Teams focusing on working with Elder Abuse\. Collaborates with community\-based personnel to ensure efficient service delivery and a high level of customer satisfaction\.



Job Responsibilities



+ Works with clinicians to identify psychiatric, forensic accounting, social service and medical needs of cases presented\.

+ Collaborates with physicians, legal advisors, social service agencies and staff regarding patient situations\. Provides a prognosis based on the treatment progress\.

+ Documents medical history of patients\. Maintains follow\-up of cases to ensure continuity of care\.

+ Assists with staff in\-services on issues as needed\.

+ Participates, as appropriate, in professional, educational, and supportive seminars, events and community efforts\.

+ Stays up to date with government, professional, and institutional regulations, legislation, policies, and standards of care\.

+ Stays up to date with changes in elder justice practice and related literature\.



Education



+ Bachelor's Degree in related field



Experience



Master's degree is preferred\.



Approximately two years of patient care experience\.



Knowledge of Psychosocial Assessment and DSM IV\.



Current NYS licensure/certification relevant to role is required\.



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



+ Strong organizational and time management skills\.

+ Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team\.

+ Excellent communication skills \(both verbal and written\)\.
