Description Position Summary
Under general guidance, performs non.invasive fetal and gynecologic sonography, and participates in invasive fetal and gynecologic sonography
Job Responsibilities
+ Maintains inventory of supplies, equipment and/or reagents. May order supplies/equipment/reagents as authorized or ensure that needs are escalated appropriately. Receives supply orders and confirms accuracy of delivery. May assist with cost control.

+ Attends workshops, seminars and/or conferences to keep abreast of standards and best practices within the field. Disseminates information to colleagues and/or staff as appropriate.

+ Ensures patient safety is maintained at all times.

+ Responsible for maintaining a sterile environment. Ensures standard infection control precautions are observed.

+ Performs quality assurance related activities. Maintains statistics, checks equipment, performs preventative maintenance and initiates calls for equipment service as necessary.

+ Performs non.invasive fetal sonographic procedures. Obtains and records patient history prior to procedure; discusses process with patients before, during and after procedure.

+ Interprets sonograms and prepares data for preliminary diagnosis. Completes patient information cards and prepares reports.

+ Assists with training medical students and staff in the use of equipment and interpretation of data.

+ Meets with medical staff to review cases and literature regarding patient care and research protocols. Assists with collecting data for publications.
+ High School Diploma
Approximately 5 years of experience working within high.risk fetal sonography
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
+ Completion of a course of study in ultrasound sonography at an accredited school.
Licenses and Certifications
+ Registered Vascular Technologist .RVT.

+ Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer .RDMS. certification
