  • Opportunity at a Glance

    The Dean’s responsibilities focus on three key areas:  Business development, Student Care and Campus operations.  This leader is charged with being a role model for our University TEACH values and fosters a culture of CARE consistent with our University mission, vision and purpose.  The Dean contributes to overall financial performance of the group by generating new student inquiries and facilitating effective operations of a Campus within the Group. The Dean, who reports to the Group President, has dotted line oversight for colleagues located at the campus, direct leadership of Operations support, and will have direct leadership for one or more Center Deans. As part of the group’s leadership team, the Campus Dean contributes to driving business and student enrollment results through building and maintaining partnerships within the community and creating a robust calendar of business development activities that generate inquiries.  

    Responsibilities

    Campus Operations and Student Care:

    • Facilities and ensures that quality student CARE is provided inside and outside of the classroom.
    • Facilitates student success by executing the short and long-term group plans.
    • Serves as the main point of contact for students, ensuring a positive student experience with the ultimate goal of high student engagement.
    • Directly responsible for the attraction, retention, performance, and development of the Center Dean(s), while ensuring Campus success and alignment to the Group strategic
    • Leads the Campus Operations Support team comprised of 3 direct reports on average and manages the attraction, retention, performance, and development of these colleagues. As the local Operations facilitator, is indirectly responsible for the retention, engagement performance and alignment of colleagues at the Campus and centers with their Group Functional Leaders.
    • Provides local oversight of processes, internal controls, and performance management to ensure organizational policy adherence and regulatory compliance.
    • Communicates and facilitates the implementation of the Home Office technology, service and product related initiatives.
    • Maintains high-quality facilities and infrastructure serving as Campus Incident Commander.
    • Develops a high performing matrix-structured team that unites around the common goal of Students, Campus, Group and University success.

    Business Development and Community Relations:

    • Builds and fosters strong relationships with the Campus local community including local and state regulators, community organizations, colleges and universities, and DVG partner institutions
    • Assures Center Deans build and foster strong relationships with the Center(s) local community including local and state regulators, community organizations, colleges and universities, and DVG partner institutions
    • Utilizes a database of local organizations to conduct outreach with a goal of engaging in quality Inquiry generating events.
    • Builds relationships with local Community Colleges and Career Schools to build articulation plans and drive quality student Inquiries.
    • Facilitate presentations to potential students on the benefits of pursuing higher education that concludes with the collection of Inquiries.
    • Compliantly enter received inquiries into SalesForce and route to the Admissions team
    • Remain current on all DeVry University programs and with business trends and initiatives within the surrounding metropolitan area
    • Identify opportunities, in partnership with the Managers of Partner Engagement, to present all Workforce Solution programs to local businesses
    • Completes other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelors required, master’s degree pred.
    • Relevant Business Development experience pred.
    • Relevant Management experience pred
    • Multi-site or remote management required; experience in a regulated environment pred.
    • Demonstrated experience in post-secondary education administration and colleague management.
