Position Summary







Assists in data reporting requirements for the Oncology Care Model \(OCM\), a government funded program, aimed at achieving better health, improved care, and smarter spending for individuals with cancer who receive chemotherapy\.







Job Responsibilities







+ Collects original source data for patients from various sources and inputs into an Excel database; logs receipt of data and records time entered\.



+ Evaluates new patients to see if they meet the criteria for OCM, based on insurance provider, diagnosis code, chemo, E&M visit, NPI\. Maintains and updates records of existing patients\.



+ Responsible for EMR chart review to fill in missing data where needed \(diagnosis code, NPI, E&M date, trigger date, medication code, insurance\)\.



+ For patients that are OCM eligible, identifies baseline episodes and potential trigger events \(chemotherapy\)\. Tracks each episode and works with the billing department on Monthly Enhanced Oncology Services \(MEOS\) claims\. Verifies billing status as needed\.



+ Maintains updated patient lists so that practices can track incentive plan\(s\) and identify OCM patients to provide enhanced OCM care and meet OCM measure requirements such as depression screening and checking health care proxies\.



+ Prepares reports on cancer\-specific measures, Staging and Clinical Data and other reporting measures as needed\. Collects and reviews data, checking EHR records as needed\. Enters/uploads data into the OCM portal\.



+ Participates in calls, webinars and meetings to keep up\-to\-date on important dates, upcoming events, new developments, deadlines, data quality control and collection strategies\.



+ Creates ad\-hoc reports and maintains data for OCM as required\.



+ Performs other related duties as assigned\.







Education







+ High School Diploma







Experience







Bachelor's degree preferred\.







Familiar with the rules for OCM eligibility; familiar with diagnosis codes, cancer therapies and staging elements\.







Able to analyze and evaluate data, problem solve, manipulate data and provide analysis\.







Knowledge, Skills and Abilities







+ Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Suite and database applications\.



+ Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to pay close attention to detail\.
