Position Summary

Under general guidance, independently manages the managed care credentialing of the departments providers This role is also responsible for the appointment, reappointment, promotional and termination process of faculty and non\-faculty appointments

Job Responsibilities

+ Responsible for the processing of all faculty and non\-faculty academic appointments, reappointments, promotions and/or terminations within the Medical College and NYPH\.

+ Compiles appointment enrollment packages for candidates, liaises with the Office of Faculty Affairs and Medical Staff Office and follows up to ensure timely submission of paperwork\.

+ Coordinates the completion and submission of semi\-annual Ongoing Professional Peer Evaluations for medical staff appointments and Focused Professional Peer Faculty evaluations for new medical staff appointments and existing physicians as necessary\.

+ Coordinates and tracks compliance with mandatory Medical College and Hopsital requirements on Annual Health Assessments, Annual Hospital Training, annual Organizational Readiness, faculty development reviews and other regulatory requirements\.

+ Provides assistance and customer service to faculty and academic staff with the preparation of materials for appointment, reappointment and promotion\. Maintains and updates databases\.

+ May coordinate the Medicare, Medicaid and Managed Care application process for the credentialing of departmental providers\. Ensures completion and resolves issues as they arise\. Tracks provider credentialing and participation status\.


+ High School Diploma


Approximately 3 years of related experience in an academic medical center
