Position Summary

Under general supervision, responsible for providing technical solutions to end\-user problems related to software, hardware, networking, voice and video technologies as required\.

Job Responsibilities

+ Identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves moderately complex end\-user computer software and hardware problems\.

+ Performs problem diagnosis, guides users through step\-by\-step solutions, clearly communicates technical solutions in a user\-friendly manner and provides one\-on\-one end\-user training as needed\.

+ Answers incoming calls for software and hardware products\. Researches and resolves inquiries of moderate to high complexity, based on Help Desk standards and procedures and other available resources\.

+ Responsible for installation, upgrades and maintenance of computers and peripheral equipment\. Troubleshoots network printer problems, conducts hardware and software inventory database maintenance, provides reporting and performs related work as required\.

+ Coordinates timely repair of PC computer equipment covered by third\-party vendor maintenance agreements\.

+ Liaises with Senior Technicians and Subject Matter Experts \(SME\) to provide solutions for users\.

+ Documents, tracks, and monitors problems to ensure a timely resolution and assist in creating answers for end\-user Frequently Asked Questions \(FAQs\)\.

+ Receives, tags, installs, delivers and configures end\-user PC and Mac desktop hardware, software and peripherals\.

+ Participates in and delivers on Help Desk projects of a technical or non\-technical nature in the role of team member and follow WCM\-Q ITS Project Management methodology\.

+ Enhances technical knowledge through on\-the\-job training and participating in continuing education\.

+ Performs other related duties as assigned\.


+ Bachelor's Degree in related field


+ 2 years end user support experience in a heterogeneous Lan environment of Apple Mac and Windows workstations\.

+ Advanced level proficiency in MS Suite of products including Word, Excel and Power\-point\.

+ Knowledge of communication protocols \(TCP/IP\)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

+ English language fluency \(written and oral\)\.

+ Strong customer service skills\.

+ Good computer skills

+ Demonstrated intermediate administrative and interpersonal skills

+ Ability to organize, prioritize and be attentive to detailed work\.

+ Demonstrated ability to work independently in a cross\-cultural environment and safeguard confidential information

+ Ability to work as team member\.

Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar was established in 2001 as a partnership between Cornell University and Qatar

Foundation\. The first medical school in Qatar and a pioneer of coeducation at university level, WCM\-Q offers an integrated program of pre\-medical and medical studies leading to the Cornell University M\.D\. degree\. Teaching is by Cornell and Weill Cornell faculty, including physicians at Hamad Medical Corporation \(HMC\) who hold Weill Cornell appointments\.

Enrollment has grown rapidly from 25 first year pre\-medical students in fall 2002 to over 200 students from more than 30 countries as we entered our sixth year of operation in September 2007\.
