Position Summary

Responsible for writing and editing content for organizational internal and external communications\. This role is responsible for creating and implementing strategic communications to address the Englander Institute for Precision Medicine \(EIPM\)s needs and objectives, and disseminating information of its faculty and their activities with the goal of increasing visibility both internally and externally\.

Job Responsibilities

+ Provides routine content maintenance including creating new webpages, updating text, images and video\. Implements processes and guidelines to ensure web content is current and accurate\. Analyzes site effectiveness to continuously drive usage\.

+ Designs, posts and maintains content and communications on electronic boards and websites related to events, programs and departmental/institutional initiatives\.

+ Develops content that can be deployed to enhance the awareness of organizational offerings\. Supports project implementations using established communication strategies\.

+ Participates in the development of end user feedback strategies including customer satisfaction surveys and focus groups

+ Writes various internal and external communications that may include writing, editing, marketing, blogging, and social media communication vehicles to promote Englander IPM through various approved outlets to increase engagement\.

+ Develops and executes a communications/marketing multi\-year plan with objectives and strategies to heighten program awareness against well\-defined audiences and then actively manages the programs and tactics that support the plan\.

+ Monitors social media conversations and trends to identify opportunities for content, conversations or collaborations within Weill Cornell Medicine and with external organizations\.


+ Bachelor's Degree in related field


2\-3 years equivalent experience in public/media relations or social media

Knowledge and understanding in the field of Precision Medicine

Experience with copywriting, editing and marketing strategies in particular, online strategies and search engine optimization

Web development experience including content production

Experience with Social Media \(Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Youtube & Instagram\) and Google Analytics

Experience with development and implementation of campaigns for email, e\-newsletters, online advertising, search engines and social media\.

Awareness of responsibilities as brand ambassador and experience in promotional engagement\.

Knowledge of CMS systems such as Wordpress and Drupal, Photoshop, InDesign and video editing is required\.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

+ Ability to site & social media analytics and metrics to define, monitor, and improve user experience and conversion rates\.

+ Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Suite and database applications\.

+ Proficient command of English \(bi\-lingual candidates are preferred\); excellent communication \(oral and written\) and presentation skills

+ Knowledge of Ad platforms such as Google AdWords, LinkedIn Ads, Twitter Ads, TrueView ads and Facebook Business\.

+ Demonstrated ability to remain focused despite frequent interruptions\.

+ Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative manner with all departmental faculty and staff, as well as other institutional representatives\.

+ Demonstrated ability to apply a wide variety of communication techniques to deliver constructive feedback to subordinates, peers and management\.

+ Demonstrated ability to allow objective judgment and discretion as necessary\.

+ Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet time line constraints/deadlines\.

+ Demonstrated ability to apply conflict resolution techniques to successfully overcome differing viewpoints\.

+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self motivated, adaptable, and possessing a positive attitude\.
