Position Summary

Responsible for developing Business Intelligence \(BI\) standard and ad hoc reports, metadata models, data cubes, as it pertains to Epic and other data sources\. This role also serves as an analyst with a goal of promoting best practices, enabling report consumers throughout the institution to understand and use the most modern data analysis tools and methods to optimize financial performance, clinical efficiency, customer service and organizational behavior\.

Job Responsibilities

+ Creates supporting documentation for BI tools, reports and new data models\. Assists with training materials and provides training when required\.

+ Identifies, defines, and builds data models within an array of Business Intelligence and other reporting tools as they pertain to Practice Management data and other advanced data sets\.

+ Ensures that data warehouse, Model System and standard & ad\-hoc reports validate and satisfy end user requirements\.

+ Develops and maintains timely and accurate reports utilizing available report writing tools\. Makes recommendations for report standardization where applicable\.

+ Optimizes existing business analysis tools and database applications\. Utilizes SQL to improve overall reporting capabilities\.

+ Analyzes and learns various data models in depth; proactively defining and implementing data structures additions\.

+ Works with leadership to identify and react to general and specific business challenges; identifies solutions and presents findings\.

+ Performs other related duties as assigned


+ Bachelor's Degree


College degree in Business, Computer Science, or Healthcare related field\. Significant related experience can substitute for formal education\.

Approximately 3 plus years experience in Healthcare Revenue Cycle office, or clinical analysis focused on business/clinical reporting

In\-depth experience with data warehouses, and data marts \(e\.g\. OLAP cubes\) and/or related tools \(e\.g\. Cognos, Business Objects, Microsoft Analysis Services\) is required\.

Strong working knowledge and experience using MS Office products as it relates to reporting and analysis required\.

In\-depth knowledge of Epics automated practice management systems and/or Electronic Health Record Information systems highly desired\.

Two or more years working with Business Objects or Cognos Business Intelligence, Tableau and/or SQL as it relates to healthcare report writing and analysis highly desired\.

+ Demonstrate ability to develop proficiency with unfamiliar toolsets required\.

+ Excellent verbal and written communications and interpersonal skills required\.

+ Strong analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills required\.

Availability during offhours and weekends for golives, testing, and emergencies is a regular part of the job\.
