Description Position Summary
Under general direction, responsible for preparing, compiling and analyzing various monthly and ad.hoc financial reports; assisting in the development, implementation and maintenance of the Medical College’s operating budget; creating and maintaining financial models and schedules to assist with the overall budgeting and reporting needs of departments. Assists the Director, FABS with Financial Reporting and end of year compliance activities.
Job Responsibilities
+ Responsible for the preparation and maintenance of monthly expense reports for WCM.Q’s operating budget. Analyzes reports for data integrity, variances, trends and cyclical events.

+ Develops and maintains budget models and tools for forecasting used in the development of the budget.

+ Plays a major role in the development of the WCM.Q annual operating budget and associated policies and guidelines. Gathers industry or peer data for comparison and best practices.

+ Leads the administration and consolidates departmental budgets into annual budgets. Serves as the functional lead for the budget module of the ERP financial system.

+ Monitors budget versus spend on key financial indicators and analytics for major expenditures’ scope, which can include various aspects of WCM.Q’s clinical, research, and education missions.

+ Assists in the preparation of presentations and financial materials throughout the year for meetings with senior leadership, Business and Finance Committees, and budget holders to ensure timely intervention on spending patterns and fund availability.

+ Works with institutional partners to ensure consistency in the classification of financial data in various systems, data repositories and reports; maintains periodic meeting with partners to coordinate changes or growth in the institution.

+ Meets with senior division representatives, directors, assistant and associate deans on budgetary requests or issues; communicates and explains budget policies with the Department to ensure adherence to policies and standards.

+ Responsible for ad.hoc budget/financial report preparation, tasks or project assignmentas as requested by the Director of FABS.
Education
+ Bachelor's Degree in related field
Experience
Finance, economics or related degree preferred.
Experience with databases and reporting software.
Minimum five.seven years financial analysis, finance, or budgeting experience.
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel . vlookups, pivot tables, etc and MS Access.
Fund accounting knowledge and budget related laws and regulations.
Budget related experience in higher education institution.
Knowledge of U.S. GAAP reporting requirements.
Experience with enterprise resource planning system such as SAP, Oracle or PeopleSoft.
License – CPA – Certified Public Accountant preferred.
