Position Summary

Responsible for the delivery and conduct of biological assays required to support TDI small molecule and mAb drug discovery projects\. The successful candidate ensures that key operational deliverables are met in accordance with project charters, milestones and timelines\. Essential qualifications are the ability to communicate and collaborate with key project stakeholders across TDI and to drive excellence in execution across worldwide virtual project teams\.

Job Responsibilities

+ Design, develop and implement high\-throughput screening assays to support lead identification to support medicinal chemistry programs

+ Design, develop and implement cell\-free and cell\-based assays for primary, secondary and selectivity screening to support medicinal chemistry or mAb programs

+ Design, develop and implement custom\-made assays to support mechanism of action studies to support medicinal chemistry or mAb programs

+ Facilitate the adaptation of new technologies to support drug discovery at the TDI

+ Build relationships with Tri\-I Principal Investigators to gain thorough understanding of all pertinent research materials

+ Identify third party providers for standardized routine biological assays, and custom\-made specialized biological assays

+ Provide appropriate coordination between all organizations involved in virtual project teams

+ Provide input to project management plans including timelines, progress, problem identification and remediation, report generation and/or document preparation


+ PhD in related field


5 10 years direct drug discovery experience in academic, pharma and/or biotech environment

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

+ Proven experience in biological assay design, development and implementation in support of drug discovery programs, preferably across multiple target classes and therapeutic areas

+ Broad expertise in high content screening including genome wide screening

+ Ability to manage staff directly and through influence

+ Ability to work within multi\-functional project teams, both local and virtual

+ Excellent communication skills \(both verbal and written\)\.
