Job Title Alumni Gifts Officer

Description Position Summary
Solicits, cultivates, and stewards alumni prospects and donors in a broad range of giving categories, from $1,000 to $5 Million. In coordination with the External Affairs Events team, this position plays a leadership role in planning and coordinating alumni special events, both in New York City and out of town.
Job Responsibilities
+ Maintains a current knowledge of Medical College programs and fundraising priorities and the initiatives set forth for the alumni by the Dean. Articulates campaign needs to the alumni.

+ Assists with planning and implementing a comprehensive alumni fundraising program.

+ Manages a portfolio of alumni principal and major gift prospects. Participates in face.to.face solicitations of alumni.

+ Develops ongoing programs to identify, cultivate, and steward alumni. Provides ongoing stewardship of alumni prospects by assisting with staffing special events, receptions, luncheons, dinners, etc.

+ Identifies alumni prospective donors; plans strategies from cultivation activities to solicitation and gift closure.

+ Liaises with student leaders, medical interest groups, student representatives to the Alumni Association, and student clubs to facilitate alumni involvement and strengthen the student/alumni network.

+ Develops and maintains a strong working relationship with the 4th Year Class President to coordinate Class Gift Campaign, class transition into the Alumni Association, and continued class involvement as Young Alumni.

+ Travels to out.of.town events when necessary to meet with key alumni prospects.

+ Manages the Alumni program calendar, drafts event briefs and debriefs and manages event news, ads, and photos for the alumni website, social media portals and Weill Cornell Medicine in general.
Education
+ Bachelor's Degree in related field
Experience
Approximately 3.5 years related experience in alumni affairs and alumni fundraising.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
+ Excellent communication skills .both verbal and written..

+ Detail oriented and superb organizational skills.

+ Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Suite and database applications.

+ Ability to work independently and within a team.
