Position Summary

The Advanced Imaging Data Analyst, utilizes independent judgment in prioritizing and performing clinical and research image post\-processing and advanced data analysis and research support services\. The analyst enhances patient care and research goals by assisting the radiologists and faculty/principal investigators \(from other WCM departments as well as Radiology\) in the in vivo imaging environment; and provides radiologic support for the development, implementation and execution of clinical trials\.

Job Responsibilities

+ Performs Quality Control \(QC\) on radiologic research exams to ensure that the scans were acquired as mandated by the research protocol\. When necessary de\-identify data and transmit to collaborating CROs\.

+ Creates study budgets and reviews regulatory documentation\. Ensures imaging protocol adheres to all applicable regulatory requirements and policies and procedures\.

+ Works actively with customers, as well as faculty to vet research imaging protocols and determine whether requirements can be met by modality\-specific Departmental standard\-of\-care imaging protocols\. Responsible for establishing protocols when required\.

+ Ensures that imaging protocol adheres to requirements\. Directly communicates with the PI and the sponsor to establish imaging requirements and procedures\. Participates in site and imaging platform qualification in conjunction with faculty and personnel

+ Ensures all images come up properly\. Assesses problems and contacts appropriate support\. Uses the RIS, Medicalis, and PowerScribe to update records, indicating that a 3D procedure was performed and properly linked to the correct radiology exam\.

+ Utilizes knowledge of computer networks and is responsible for trouble\-shooting computer network issues in transmission and receipt of radiology images and 3D reconstructions and manipulations performed by IDEAL\. All images are stored electronically\.

+ Determines if image validity is sufficient to manipulate and produce 3D images\. Notifies PI or physician if validity and quality are insufficient and works w/PI to resolve\.

+ Produces 3D images and reconstruction from CT, MRI, and PET datasets\. Provides image post\-processing and image data analysis necessary for surgical and procedural planning\. Send 3D data and images to PACS for interpretation by radiologist\.

+ Communicates directly with Radiologist or ordering physician to determine post\-processing specifications to provide most relevant diagnostic information for patient care


+ Bachelor's Degree in related field


Extensive knowledge and experience in cross\-sectional imaging, anatomy, physiology, gross pathology, medical terminology, and radiologic patient positioning
