Position Summary



The Weill Cornell Medicine BioVenture eLab was created to proactively foster an entrepreneurial ecosystem for WCM researchers, clinicians, students and staff\. We provide the WCM community with access to specializedprograms and resources, training, and mentorship in biomedical entrepreneurship, ranging from startup symposiums to workshops on intellectual property protection and new technologies to industry networking events\. We offer a newly added, state of the art makerspace and an annual business plan challenge judged by external experts within the venture capital community\. This role is responsible for leadership and content design of an educational program, aligned with kindred efforts at WCM, aimed at encouraging, fostering and nurturing a culture and mindset conducive to high impact entrepreneurship among Weill Cornells faculty, postdocs and student body\.



Job Responsibilities



+ Proactively fosters, promotes and supports an entrepreneurial culture and mindset at Weill Cornell through events, public relations, outreach and lobbying\.

+ Organizes and leads special programs including seminars, work\-shops, boot camps and courses, where Weill Cornell community members can develop essential skills for entrepreneurship\.

+ Responsible for instituting an organized mentoring program, drawing on the experience and expertise of Entrepreneurs\-in Residence \(EIRs\) \- recognized thought leaders and seasoned private sector entrepreneurs\.

+ Responsible for developing a network of capital resources including investors and venture capital\.

+ Manages resources such as an e\-Lab website, hosted podcasts, blogs and other resources for entrepreneurial inspiration and training\.

+ Establishes and maintains a clearinghouse of information on relevant courses and capacities, both across the Weill Cornell community and external resources\.

+ Facilitates an establishment of internship opportunities for, and linkages between, Weill Cornell community members with external companies or within other Weill Cornell groups\.



Education



+ Bachelor's Degree in related field



Experience



Approximately six years of relevant experience, including experience with entrepreneurship\.



A strong education background and experience working in an academic environment\.



Experience in developing academic training programs\.



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



+ Understanding of academic institutions necessary\.

+ Excellent communication skills \(both verbal and written\)\.
