Description Position Summary
Under guidance, manages the daily operational and administrative activities of the Emergency Department’s Making Care Better Program as well as the department’s educational programs This role also provides administrative support to a variety of other programs and operational activities
Job Responsibilities
+ Assists faculty in the preparation of grant submissions and associated documentation, which may include just.in.time documents, progress reports, routing forms, abstracts and manuscripts.

+ Coordinates and is a member of the department’s Making Care Better program where leaders identify solutions to enhance the patient experience. Creates the weekly agenda, tracks attendance, documents and communicates actions to be taken to leadership.

+ Identifies opportunities for improvement within the emergency department’s workflows. Brings solutions forth to departmental and Making Care Better program leadership.

+ Creates and maintains the Making Care Better “Message of the Month” flyer to align with current operational changes and hospital initiatives.

+ Coordinates workflow changes resulting from the Making Care Program by collaborating with various support departments to ensure changes are successfully and seamlessly implemented.

+ Serves as the department’s liaison for various IT and wellness initiatives. Assists with communicating new roll.outs and takes the lead on special projects as assigned. Coordinates related activities such as press releases,agendas,supplies and budgeting

+ Organizes and implements special events to promote program and departmental initiatives such as sporting events, luncheons and other social networking events.

+ Assists with writing and submitting various award applications through Press Ganey and other recognized publications.

+ Manages the department’s observership program, including scheduling shadowing opportunities for visiting international physicians and coordinating the associated immigration process.

+ Provides administrative support to the department’s fellowship program.s.. Creates the program schedule and provides front.line support to fellows through the duration of the program. Works with fellowship leadership to modify the program as needed.

+ Assists with creating bios on new faculty and staff, executive summaries and other high.level presentations.

+ Manages the departmental medical scribe program. Coordinates the onboarding and orientation of all scribes. Monitors and verifies scribe hours billed to department.

+ Serves as the liaison between WCM and NYPH leadership and medical scribes to ensure compliance, resolve any administrative or technical issues and provide quality assurance reviews of the scribe program.
