Position Summary







Oversees and provides leadership to the administrative activities and operations of the Weill Cornell/Rockefeller/Sloan Kettering Tri\-Institutional MD\-PhD Program, a joint partnership among three elite institutions\. The AD will oversee administrative aspects of Recruitment and Admissions, Diversity and Outreach including the Gateways to the Laboratory summer program, Student Affairs, Alumni Affairs, Coordination of Academic Programs within the MD\-PhD Program, Budget and Finance, Grants Management, and Data Management and Outcomes Analysis\. The AD will have direct line supervision of staff leading some of these efforts\.







Job Responsibilities







+ Responsible for all administrative aspects of the MD\-PhD Program including: Recruitment & Admissions; Outreach; Diversity; Budget; Financial Management, Grant Development; Curriculum & Program Coordination; Housing; Events; Student & Alumni Relations\.



+ Responsible for insuring that the MD\-PhD Program is compliant with all governing agencies rules and regulations, the foremost of these agencies being the NIH\.



+ Responsible for human resources, information systems, data and budget reporting and all other operations activities to create and maintain a high performance office and culture\.



+ Develops and monitors budgetary issues including budget development and submission, fiscal year\-end closing, grant and fellowship life cycle, student health insurance recovery, student stipends, tuition, fees and coordination with central departments\.



+ Maintain effective communication across the three participating institutions, including the Medical College's Office of Academic Affairs and the three graduate school offices\.



+ Assist the Program and Tri\-Institutional leadership in developing and implementing MD\-PhD Program policies\.



+ Represent the Program Director in dealings with relevant outside parties including the AAMC, National MD\-PhD Association and the NIH as well as local administrators from The Rockefeller University and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center\.



+ Establish and reinforce clear expectations of superior performance and service, particularly through the establishment of a team\-oriented and proactive office culture\.



+ Provide strategic, tactical and operational support to the Dean\(s\) and others as directed\.







Education







+ Bachelor's Degree in related field







Experience







Master's degree in Business, Management or other related academic or scientific field is preferred\.







Approximately 6 years of related experience with increasing levels of responsibility and complexity, preferably in an academic healthcare or related non\-profit administrative setting\.







Knowledge, Skills and Abilities







+ Demonstrated knowledge of budgetary and human resources management\.



+ Knowledge of SAP and Jenzabar or comparable Enterprise Finance and HR Systems\.



+ Entrepreneurial and political savvy, with the ability to build and manage all constituent relationships\.



+ Excellent computer, quantitative, analytical, written and presentation skills with the ability to interact with several levels within an institution\.



+ Ability to effectively lead complex work teams with a track record of exceeding performance expectations\.



+ Ability to communicate with staff and outside organizations, and work as a member of the team or independently
