Position Summary

Provides administrative and secretarial support\. As required, provides cross\-coverage for other team members\.

Job Responsibilities

+ Maintains the electronic calendar, schedules appointments and conference calls\. Manages the office files, orders stationary, photocopies, faxes and other tasks such as screening, logging and prioritizing incoming telephone calls, mail and email\.

+ Provides word processing, spreadsheet and presentation services including drafting correspondence, typing and formatting word and excel documents, presentations, itineraries, reports, manuscripts, research proposals and other publications\.

+ As required, compiles and disseminates materials for meeting\. Records and transcribes minutes and monitors follow up actions points\.

+ Plan and organizes the travel arrangements including liaising with the HR department in Doha and the WCM\-Q office in NY to coordinate flights, hotel room reservations and ground transportation for educational or business purposes\.

+ Assists with the completion of expense claim reimbursement forms as required\.

+ Coordinates the travel and accommodation arrangements for potential faculty candidates and other guests and prepares visit itineraries accordingly\.

+ Liaises with the staff in the division and with external stakeholders as required\.

+ As required, initiates shopping carts relating to the educational activities of the department ensuring compliance with WCM\-Q financial policies and procedures\.

+ Supports website updates as required

+ As required, provides cross\-coverage within the Division\.

+ Maintains confidentiality of information relating to students and faculty members and performs other job related duties as required\.


+ Bachelor's Degree in related field


BA BS or equivalent combination of education and experience\.

4 or more years secretarial administrative experience\.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

+ Advanced verbal, written and interpersonal skills\.

+ Advanced time management and organizational skills

+ Advanced skills in multi\-tasking complex projects and following through to accurate completion\.

+ Ability to develop and initiate creative solutions to problems\.

+ Detail orientated\.

+ Advanced level proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint\.

+ Ability to work well with others in a cross\-cultural environment

Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar was established in 2001 as a partnership between Cornell University and Qatar
